An official donation presented in Rosso for autism

Inclusion must not remain mere talk. It must translate into concrete actions that allow every child to be welcomed, supported and embraced in their difference. That is exactly the spirit in which we acted on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 in Rosso, Mauritania.

On that day, our association, ARD Rosso, officially presented a donation to the association Unis pour Eux: Agir et Vivre avec l’Autisme (A.V.A.). This local organization devotes its energy to the town’s autistic children and their families, a cause that deeply moves us.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Yacoub Lo, our representative in Rosso, and Ameth Gueye, partnerships officer and member of the ARD board. Their commitment on the ground reflects the determination of our Rosso diaspora to stay close to local realities.

Where does this donation for Rosso’s autistic children come from?

This donation would never have existed without the generosity of Le Jardin des Capucines, which initiated the whole effort. We also extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped transport and deliver it. This chain of solidarity, connecting caring hands to the Senegal river valley, shows just how meaningful acts of solidarity become when they come together.

Why support the inclusion of autistic children in Rosso?

We believe that every child matters and that every difference deserves support. In Rosso, families of autistic children face considerable challenges: a lack of suitable facilities, difficulty accessing specialized care, and sometimes a lack of understanding from those around them.

The project led by A.V.A. brings hope. It offers children a space to thrive and provides parents with a place to be heard and to breathe. By supporting this initiative, we want to show that the solidarity of the Rosso diaspora does not stop at educational or economic projects: it also embraces less visible but equally essential causes.

On social media, the reactions to this action have been heartwarming. One user wrote to us: “Congratulations, keep going, you have my encouragement.” Messages like these fuel our determination to keep moving forward.

A first step towards a lasting momentum

This donation is only the beginning of a broader ambition. We want to help build a lasting momentum around inclusion in Rosso: children’s fulfillment, support for families, and awareness-raising across the entire Mauritanian and Rosso community.

Our association has already demonstrated its commitment to children in Rosso, notably through the distribution of school supplies and the rehabilitation of the Tekeuch school launched in 2026. Supporting autistic children extends that same conviction: Rosso’s future is built with all of its children, without exception.

How to move inclusion forward in Rosso?

Acting together, every gesture counts. Associations, families, partners and citizens: everyone can contribute, in their own way, to advancing inclusion in our town. Giving every child the place they deserve in Rosso society is a shared goal that goes far beyond our association.

We invite everyone who cares about this cause to join our momentum, whether through a donation, a partnership, or simply by spreading the word about these initiatives. The solidarity of the Rosso diaspora, both in France and in Mauritania, is a real force, and it is together that we can turn words into tangible realities.

Because every child matters. Because every difference deserves support. And because in Rosso, no child should ever be left behind.
