A €10,000 Grant for Education in Mauritania

ARD Rosso has earned renewed recognition from La Guilde. Our association has been awarded a €10,000 grant through a call for projects aimed at supporting education in Mauritania. This renewed trust rewards several years of continuous efforts on the ground.

Following the successful rehabilitation of Rosso City Hall School, carried out with the support of our partner La Guilde, we continue our commitment alongside the people of the commune of Rosso. This new funding reflects the strength of our collaboration and the tangible impact of our previous actions.

Why Does the Tekeuch School Need Urgent Intervention?

During our various missions to Rosso, particularly through our school supplies distribution campaigns, our teams conducted an in-depth identification effort. The findings on the ground are clear: classrooms are severely deteriorated, the roof lets in rain and heat, and learning conditions remain particularly difficult for the students.

These regular visits allowed us to gauge the urgency of the situation. Teachers, parents, and local residents expressed their needs during community consultations. We then made the rehabilitation of the Tekeuch School, located near Dieuck, a top priority for our association.

Planned Work at the Tekeuch School

Thanks to the financial support of La Guilde, our large-scale project includes three major areas of intervention to transform the learning conditions for children in the commune of Rosso.

  • Rehabilitation of classrooms to provide a safe, healthy, and suitable learning environment for both students and teachers.
  • Construction of a perimeter wall to secure the entire school facility and effectively protect the children.
  • Construction of a toilet block to significantly improve hygiene and health conditions within the school.

These structural investments will provide children with a dignified, safe, and conducive school environment for educational success. The presence of essential infrastructure forms the foundation of quality education.

How Does This Project Fit into the Long Term?

This project is a direct continuation of the actions carried out by our association. It echoes our previous projects, such as the rehabilitation of the Ndiourbel School in Rosso. Each intervention responds to a precise assessment, developed in close collaboration with local authorities and the educational community.

On social media, many community members welcomed this announcement. One follower enthusiastically commented: “Bravo to the whole team for this new project, our children deserve schools worthy of the name!”. This feedback fuels our determination to continue on this path.

Building the Future of Rosso’s Youth

We extend our sincerest thanks to La Guilde for this renewed trust. Our gratitude also goes to all members of our association, our dedicated volunteers, our loyal partners, and our generous donors. Without them, none of these achievements would be possible.

Together, we continue our commitment to quality education and sustainable development for the benefit of the people of Rosso. Every child deserves a safe and welcoming school. We keep building the future of our youth, one project at a time, with determination and solidarity.
